LECTURE-PRACTICUM
“BREATHING, CENTERING, GROUNDING”

This session continues a series of materials on creative support methods and opens an important direction in working with the body in the context of art recovery.

Viktor Ruban is a director, choreographer, researcher, and cultural diplomat who works with movement-based arts: dance, theater, photography, and video.

Viktor structured this session by combining information from himself with practical processing by the participants, which is why it’s defined as a lecture practicum.

What is it about?

  • It’s about our breathing and attention, the ability to ground ourselves, and how we can activate these skills;
  • It covers centering, muscle tone, and redirecting attention to what gives us stability and a sense of support in any circumstances—our spine, bones, and joints;
  • It delves into finding what sustains our movement;
  • It explains how to refocus attention to our bodies, restore contact with reality, and how to utilize all of this to help ourselves and others.

The lecture was filmed as part of the KIDS ART-RETREAT PROJECT, a class for specialists
