The war is a challenge for our society. The conscious applying of art and creative practices is critically significant for recovering the psychoemotional state of Ukrainians.

The “00. ART THERAPY FORCE” project contributes to the institutionalization of this work. It aims to restore our society through the training of professionals and direct work with children, adolescents, students, volunteers, and veterans. We use modern academic methodologies to restore the psychoemotional health of society.

The project consists of several areas of work, including educational programs and art therapy.

Our main products include:

• Art projects based in Ukrainian hospitals, shelters for displaced persons, children’s shelters, and art institutions. We collaborate with 9 universities, providing music therapy courses by Nigel Osborne, and actively cooperate with the Unbroken Center, the largest Ukrainian rehabilitation hospital.
• An online platform featuring a library of articles, lectures, and methodological materials on the topic of art therapy.
• Ukrainian Artist Camp — educational retreat camps for Ukrainian artists interested in art therapy, and their children
• Kids Art Retreat Project — art recovery camps for children from the front-line regions of Ukraine. Children engage in dance, music, theater, applied arts, and art therapy under the guidance of international specialists.
• Family Art Retreat Project  — a one-week art recovery project for IDP children and their family members.

ART DOT

ART DOT is a public organization that aims to conduct artistic and educational events to stimulate civic activism and create an ecological space for implementing social improvements and responsibility. We emphasize performing arts as a mediator of the level of consciousness of civil society and a nonviolent instrument of inclusion and social tension. We integrate contemporary Ukrainian culture into the context of world art. In 6 years of existence, the organization has conducted numerous cultural programs and events, released educational materials on the work of art institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic, and organized networking programs for librarians in district centers of Kharkiv region. One of the most important programs is “Parade-fest” – a cross-sectoral festival about the right to the city, which, through education, art, and social initiatives, promotes harmonious democratic changes in civil society and raises the level of cultural leaders. Through its activities, the NGO “ART DOT” shapes a new identity for Ukrainians, and addresses issues of inclusion, media manipulation, and human rights.
